Arnica Montana Extract

WHAT IS IT?

Arnica is a bright yellow mountain daisy grown in Europe, often called wolf’s bane.
The plant is considered part of the sunflower family and is traditionally used to treat bruises by enhancing circulation.
Fortunately, Arnica also boasts incredible benefits for the skin.
Perhaps one of the best-kept secrets about Arnica is that its petals contain sesquiterpene lactones, as well as flavonoids, carboxylic acid, coumarins, and essential oils!

Additional Benefits:

Arnica hydrates the skin, reduces redness, and gives a more radiant overall appearance

Its anti-inflammatory power is used for several cosmetic purposes, such as reducing puffiness around the face

An excellent soother for rosacea, dark circles, and hyperpigmentation

Its anti-inflammatory properties are used to calm and soothe stressed skin

Generally used to soothe the skin, Arnica inhibits inflammatory responses—think redness, sensitivity, and discomfort

Arnica works for all skin types, but can be especially effective for people with reactive skin

Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, individuals with sensitive skin or rosacea may benefit from including Arnica in their skincare routine to reduce redness and irritation

Baptisia Tinctoria Root Extract

WHAT IS IT?

Baptisia Tinctoria Root Extract:
The root extracts of B. tinctoria have shown excellent anti-inflammatory effects and can be used as biologically active functional substances.
Wild indigo (Baptisia tinctoria) dye is an important medicinal raw material that contains numerous biologically active substances and shows a broad spectrum of pharmacological activity.
Wild indigo was a favored medicine of Native Americans; a decoction made from the roots was used as a disinfectant wash for wounds and skin diseases.

SCIENCE RESEARCH

Modern research has shown that this pungent, bitter plant stimulates the immune system and is particularly effective against bacterial infections.

Echinacea Angustifolia

WHAT IS IT?

Originally from the United States, this wild-growing perennial plant prefers dry forests and grassy plains.
It has a rhizome, blooms in the summer, and its flower resembles a daisy.
It is one of the three echinacea species used for medicinal purposes.

HISTORY

As a medicinal herb, it was originally used by Native American tribes.
It was used for centuries to heal wounds or as an antidote for snake bites.
Externally, it is used for slow-healing wounds and inflammatory skin diseases.
It has immune-boosting and anti-inflammatory effects.

Thuja

WHAT IS IT?

Thuja occidentalis is used to treat skin diseases such as warts, ringworm, and psoriasis.
The plant acts as an antibacterial and antifungal agent.
Western and giant thuja are among North America's most important cone-bearing trees.
Native Americans called it the “Tree of Life” and made medicinal tea from its scale-like leaves.
It is suitable for treating scurvy due to its vitamin C content.

Pulsatilla Koreana Extract

WHAT IS IT?

Used for its antimicrobial and natural preservative effects.
The plant extract is a traditional Eastern medicinal herb known for its analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and astringent properties. A skin-conditioning ingredient, thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties it can be effectively used to treat various inflammatory conditions.
It is an agent with a broad antimicrobial spectrum.
Native to Korea.

FUN FACT

In Korea, Pulsatilla koreana is called the “grandmother’s flower.”
According to an old legend, there was a widow who had two daughters.
The elder daughter married a rich man, while the younger married into a not-so-well-off family.
When the widow became an old lady, she planned to visit her daughters to see how they were doing.
However, when she visited the elder daughter, they denied her entry and threw her out of the house.
So the widow turned to her younger daughter.
However, she lived far away, beyond many mountains.
The old widow kept walking, but eventually collapsed from exhaustion.
Hours later, the younger daughter found her mother not far from home—she had died of fatigue.
The grieving daughter buried her mother’s body near the house.
The next spring, a strange flower bloomed on her grave.
It had white locks of hair and a hunched back, resembling the old mother very much.
Since then, people began to believe that the flower was the reincarnation of the deceased widow, which is why it was nicknamed the “grandmother’s flower.
